Wimberley Lavender Farm, located halfway between Blanco and Wimberley on FM 2325, offers great views, a relaxing lavender labyrinth, a stone cottage gift shop, and lots of R&R for visitors. Farm owners Karen and O'Neil Provost offer farm tours and answer questions about lavender growing and gardening.

"We want our land to contribute rather than just be a 'ranchette,'" Karen explained. "We grow lavender as well as a variety of vegetables and fruits. We also have beehives and plan to harvest honey in the future. We believe in green growing and organic farming. Being good stewards of the land is very important to us."

As a special events and wedding caterer, Karen uses products from her farm to create custom wedding favors and culinary products such as lavender sugars and herbs. She plans to create handmade jams and jellies and other lavender-infused delicacies.

"Right now, lavender lemonade is our specialty. We also offer lavender ice cream and, I'm proud to say, it's 'fabulous!'" Karen said with a smile. Visitors can choose from numerous places throughout the farm to savor treats or a picnic lunch while enjoying the fantastic views.

Throughout the growing season, Wimberley Lavender Farm offers u-pick lavender. Visitors can purchase six varieties of lavender and a variety of herbs.

"Lavender is important because it is very accessible to many home gardeners. It is easy to grow and fun to use. Once it's established it takes little water and low maintenance. It can and should be grown without pesticides," Karen said.
