Heron’s Nest Herb Farm is excited to be a part of 6th Annual Lavender Festival. We have a wonderful weekend of events planned to showcase our culinary and medicinal herb farm. So bring out your own picnic and enjoy the beautiful views and the woodland creek path. We will have drinks and dessert for sale as well as a wide array of quality handmade gifts. There will be classes, tours and speakers thru out the day.
Features
We have a full Lavender gift shop with handmade spa products as well as salves, candles, household Lavender cleaner and more. Our farm is covered with tall trees and has a great woodland creek that leads to our home gardens and an air-conditioned bathroom with free ice cold water.
Festival Weekend Schedule
Friday10 a.m. - 4 p.m. — Open for the festival. — Starting at 10:30 am, Free Farm tours by Fred Van Aken. Take a 20 minute walk on the farm with Fred as he shows you how he has taken the field and greenhouse "off the Grid." See how affordable and practical it is to create a rainwater system to irrigate your garden using rainwater and solar energy. Shop our extensive market of spa products made right here on the farm.
Saturday8 a.m. - 6 p.m. — Open for the festival. 8 a.m. — Texas Lavender Women’s 5K and 10K Run / Walk — Visit

9 a.m. - 6 p.m. — Fine Art on the Farm — Come see a unique array of highly talented Hill Country Artists who will be on hand to show their work and share the visions that are their inspiration. We will feature artists from the local area who have created one of a kind pieces to enhance the beauty of the outdoor world. Baskets, Sculptures, Paintings, Pottery and More.
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. — Hands-on Workshops with Essential Oils — Make a body mister, massage oil or hand soap using your own custom blended scent. We will offer instruction, materials and a wide variety of essential oils to choose from including lavender. These projects are quick and range in price from $5-$18. Watch us demonstrate the art of distilling lavender essential oil from the lavender flowers. We will run the still several times each day.
10 a.m. - 3 p.m. — Using Culinary Lavender Hands on Workshop with Sibby Barrett — Sibby, owner and chef at her ranch home, Juniper Hills Farm, facilitates Yoga retreats and cooking weekends. In her own “Onion Creek Kitchens,” she now offers a full curriculum of cooking classes. She is currently authoring a cookbook of collected class favorites and has a line of food products under the "Onion Creek Kitchens" label. Sibby will be on the farm on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. doing ongoing instruction for the making a wide array of culinary items. Prices range from $5-$18. Visit

We will have popcorn with a variety of different sprinkles to top it with, homemade cookies, brownies and at least one gluten free dessert. Ice cold Hibiscus Mint Tea and Lemonade with Lavender Syrup to add to your taste.
